the scenario
Imagine this.
You wake up from a nap shivering.
The thermostat is buffering and the automated air conditioner is blasting cold air into your room.
Something feels off.
You intuitively talk to your switch to turn on the lights and open the blinds. No response. Your room is still quite dark. You have no sense of what time of day it is.
You are concerned.
Your phone battery is dead. Your router is connected and the internet appears to be active but your computer is unresponsive. Your voice-activated virtual assistant is unreachable. You realize that your entire smart home network is disconnected.
You start to panic.
You are unable to open your smart locked doors and leave your residence. You are trapped in the comfort of your own home. Every domestic machine that is dependent on connectivity is nonfunctional – including you.
